Imagine if you owned a tablet capable of working 100 hours non-stop without having to be recharged. Well, it might not be long before we will be able to feel it. Technicians from Northwestern University, USA, has successfully created a lithium-ion battery a new generation. Only by adding millions of tiny holes in it, the battery can last ten times longer and can recharge ten times faster than regular lithium-ion batteries.
Dr. Harold Kung of Northwestern University said they were able to make all this possible because it found a way to squeeze more ions into the battery and increase the speed of motion. In the future, Lithium ion batteries can be recharged up to 100 percent in just 15 minutes this can drastically reduce how often we have to recharge the batteries of mobile devices.
Kung even dare to claim, "Even after 150 recharge, or about one year more work, the battery is still five times more effective than regular lithium-ion batteries on the market today.". The technicians believe this great super battery will begin to adopt the mobile device industry within five years.
